What Is Faith Rock Star?

What will happen to original songs written by the contestants? If you give FRS permission, your song may be arranged and recorded by the winner in the debut album. PLEASE note that if the time gets tight, we will begin to ask competitors to only sing up to the chorus (and bridge if you have one). This in no way means that we don't like your song or that we don't respect your work. We are trying to keep on schedule in the production as there is a LOT planned (and the nature of show-biz…). In the case where you would like to perform the whole song if the time does not permit, there will be a room set-up with an interview camera where you can have it recorded. Hopefully we won't run out of time.
What is the vision/binding terms for the winner? Beyond the album, there will be minimum two music videos. Work is in place for an album release party at Blessings Christian Marketplace. They will be a positive and fun youth influence in both Christian and non-Christian communities. You can download Geoff Ing's album and view his videos for a preview of what's in store.
What are other opportunities for the winner? If the winning Rock Star is willing, we may further expand this to have them also record FUN and faith-related web-isodes discussing and presenting faith issues or devotions. Basically, they would sort of be a 'spokesperson' for youth and their faith. So if the FRS likes apologetics, Ecbico Productions will produce this for them. Also if the winner is willing, they may be invited to host a few events such as The Gospel Without Words Film Fest.
What is Ecbico Productions, and why media and why videos online? It is the production company for FRS and other digital media for ECBC (but it has room to expand). The internet is a huge harvest field in which the power of its reach in Christian circles has mainly been untapped. In January, 88% of all Canadians with access to the Internet viewed an online video (mainly Youtube) accessing over 3.1 billion videos that month. Ecbico Productions main objective is to change the way values in media are presented that are family friendly or faith based. More on the subject (not on Ecbico) will be discussed in the learning sessions. Besides having video testimonies and sermons online, the next major event is an outreach project called The Gospel Without Words Film Fest.
What is Gospel Without Words Filmfest? Note that this is NOT related to TYF or Faith Fellowship, but an event Ecbico is promoting in the FRS episodes. But if anyone is interested in participating, it will be a (hopefully ongoing) summer project for amateurs and beginners to make short films/videos delivering the Gospel message… without words (written or spoken). This would be made available on the web and have the potential to be used all over the world as it crosses language barriers.
