Theme for the 2008/2009 School Year

  • We live in a fallen world
    • Smoking, drunks, infidelity, lying, selfishness, gluttony…
  • More and more behaviours and attitudes that are despised in the Bible are being accepted and deemed as “normal cultural movement”
  • How are we to stand out as children of God in our daily surroundings of University, family and friends?
  • To shine for God with an intense passion, living in the light that never goes out
  • Set apart, made holy, surrendered for obedience
  • Stars do not stop glowing even in the day when we do not see them – as we should glow 24/7 with light that is not physically seen
  • We are diamonds in the rough that need to be chipped of our rough edges, such that we would shine brilliantly, refining us into the creations he originally intended
  • Glow with spiritual worship, wisdom, maturity and LOVE

Theme Verse: Philippians 2:14-16

Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe 16as you hold out the word of life—in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labour for nothing.
